Across the street from the Belvada is the famous Mizpah Hotel. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, the hotel was established in 1907 and named after the Mizpah mine. The mine was discovered in 1905 by pioneer miner Jim Bulter. The mines of Tonopah once produced over $250,000,000 worth of gold and silver, making it one of the richest ore producing cities in the west.
