At Tonopah I connected with Hwy. 6 (95), which leads west back towards California. The junction of Hwy. 6 and Hwy. 95 lies at a place called Coaldale (not much there of interest, just a few old deserted bars). Highway 95 leads north to Hawthorne and Highway 6 climbs back into the northern section of the Inyo National Froest. The road scales the eastern face of Mt. Montgomery, crossing over Montgomery Pass and descending into the Hammil Valley near the California Border. Of interest here is Boundary Peak, which can be seen from a pullout on the south of the road. At 13,143 feet, it stands as the highest peak in Nevada.
