I continued north on Hwy. 395 to the Hwy. 270 exit and turned east. Ahead was one of the most facinating places I would visit. Highway 270 came to an end and turned to dirt about 13 miles in. After a winding climb up a rugged dirt road, I arrived a Bodie State Historic Park. Here, the modern day world come to an end. My journey would take me back to the year 1880 and a time when the town was filled with prospectors, searching the hills for high country gold. Many have called Bodie one of the best preserved ghost towns in the country (if not the world!)
