All of a sudden the narrow two-lane road began to twist and turn, as it snaked its way up the face of the White Mountain Range. My estimations put me at about 9000 feet, just above the Grandview Canyon Campground. I gazed across the sage covered slopes of the Inyo National Forest, captizated by a lone lenticular cloud that streaked above the crest of the far off Sierras.
